Hopeful, Healthy Oceans (H2O) combines the power of science communication and art to capture and share the importance and beauty of our imperiled Florida marine ecosystems.
While it is no secret that our majestic coastal ecosystems are being impacted by a multitude of impacts, from Climate Change to local disturbances, our program focuses on the actions being undertaken to ensure their recovery and persistence. Through the eyes of our young artists, we are able to appreciate the beauty of our coral reefs and their inhabitants and underscore the pressing need to ensure their survivorship.
At H2O, we feel we need to flip the narrative and highlight the beauty and importance of our remaining coastal ecosystems as we need these ecosystems as much as they now need us. And we found no better way to do this than by letting kids show us what they love about the oceans and give us one more reason to protect them. Through the eyes of young artists, we share the beauty of our coral reefs and their inhabitants and underscore the pressing need to ensure their survivorship. The H2O program raises awareness and encourages action for ocean and coral conservation.
