Bio

I work as a Senior Research Associate I in Dr. Lirman's Benthic Ecology and Coral Reef Restoration Lab. My work focuses on the lab’s citizen science initiative-  Rescue a Reef. Rescue a Reef is a coral conservation program that supports reef research and restoration by harnessing the power of community involvement. My role is focused on developing and growing the organization’s outreach and education programs and leading citizen science dive expeditions.

I am a Rosenstiel Alum and graduated with a Master of Professional Science in Marine Conservation. My project focused on leveraging virtual reality technology and social media to engage the public about research through nontraditional science communication. Before my Master's, I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami in Marine Affairs and Communications, where I first realized my passion for sharing science with the public. By combining my passion for science communication with hands-on coral restoration efforts, I aim to help bridge the gap between research and community action, fostering greater engagement in protecting our coral reef ecosystems.

I am excited to be a member of the Rescue a Reef team, and I look forward to inspiring others to take an active role in ocean conservation!
