I am a senior research associate 1 in Dr. Lirman’s benthic ecology and coral restoration lab. My roles in the lab include overseeing our wet lab, where we conduct research, culture coral and maintain coral colonies for future use. I also help with field operations, assisting in field research, monitoring and coral reef restoration.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California San Diego (2022), with a major in Biology, Ecology and Evolution. I completed my Masters of Science at the University of Miami (2024) in marine biology and ecology. My research focused on exploring the role of coral fragment size and grow-out location on growth rates and post out plant survival. This tied in well with my passion for growing and keeping coral in artificial environments and the growing need for a body of knowledge regarding Atlantic coral species growth.
